I have finally took the time to try and understand facebook ads. I went to Appsumo.com and watched their course on the subject and I am amazed! The videos are consise and helpful. You could also download the video to your desktop, download an mp3 and even view the transcription of the whole thing. Pretty sweet! Go AppSumo!

Carbonmade is hiring a new illustrator and I want the job! So to show my dedication I have doodled up some characters inspired by their website.
First up is Bucket boy, his superpower? Awesomeness.
Next is Egg Bird. I’m still trying to explain this one to myself…
…and last but not least, its the Tribal Hipster. You can find them in Brooklyn mostly.
And here they are all together. Enjoy!
Have you heard of TC Disrupt? Well, right before the event actually happens there is a hackathon, which is a 24 hour event where you hack something together, usually using technology. For example, a lot of people make a website, an app or sometimes something that is physical, like a robot.
While I was there I sneaked a sketch in(how could I not!)
Art in motion #tcdisrupt @alextaub by @pencilking2002 on Twitpic.
Here’s an old sketch I did at DUMBO, a pretty hip neighbor hood in New York. Dumbo is known for being an artsy place and has gone through a lot of changes in recent history. You can still see the remnants of old New York here. Cobble stone streets, old factories, and heavy shadows fill Dumbo with character. Nowawadays there are less artists there and more design firms and such. Because of the rising costs artists have been driven away.
There are people fighting to keep Dumbo’s historic architecture from being torn down and there are people who want to make money. The new buildings have definitely taken away from the place and there are less artists there, but the place still has a nice touch to it especially during the Dumbo Arts Festival which happens every year. When you are in NY this is definitely a must see that you can’t catch in Manhattan, though its very easily accessible from there.
A couple of days ago my dog started wobbling around like a bugger hanging out of a hairy nose. This is not normal for her, since she is an active dog(chase cats, eat poop, sneak napkins of a table, that sort of deal).
In the evening the dog become worse and wouldn’t get up. So my mom became worried and before you know it, she was reenacting a scene from one of Shakespear’s plays. “Lisa oh Lisa!”(that’s the dog’s name).
So we think this dog is about to die. We call a taxi and take her to the emergency room. In the car, Lisa had a great time, looking out the window, going from one spot to another, stepping on my crotch, the usual. Yep, we were pretty pissed off. By the time we got to the emergency room Lisa was as hyper as a crack fiend. The lady looked at me with a look that said “Are you crazy?”. I looked back at her with look that said “No, Doctor lady, the dog tricked me!”. Lisa looked at me and with a big smile that said “gotcha”.
I have to say this Piece was a lot of fun to make. It doubles an illustration and a T-shirt design as well. Manny Pacquiao is not only a talented boxer but also, as many of his fans know, a musician. How does he find time for his extra-curricular activities? I have no idea. I find it hard just to balance my life and keep drawing and making art, but alas this isn’t about me!
In the meatball of boxers, those of you who know about the topic, see if you can spot some of the faces of the boxers Manny has fought!
